Hope everyone’s having happy holidays. Sorry you haven’t heard much from me, I was in Hawaii for the last 2.5 weeks and just got home (it’s cold here❄️)
I got a bunch of great games for Christmas (including Undertale and Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon) so you can look forward to hearing a bit about those later. Today though, I just wanted to quickly mention a cute little mobile game I’ve been playing since May called Neko Atsume.
Neko Atsume is a Japanese game (title meaning something like Cat Watcher/Collector). In this game, you have some fish currency which you use to buy toys and snacks for stray cats, who come to your yard and play with the toys and leave more fish currency as a token of appreciation.
The goal of the game is to fill up your
Pokedex photo album with pictures of all the cute cats playing with various toys. The other goal is to get each cat to come to your yard so often that they give you their special token of friendship. The other, other (best) goal is to have a cute yard full of cute toys with cute cats.
So yeah, the game is cute. Put toys + food, leave for a while (maybe 20 minutes?), come back and find cats in your yard. Perfect for messing around at work or between classes. The basic food expires every 8 hours, so it’s not like you need to babysit the game, and nothing bad happens to you if you don’t put out food (just means no cats will arrive, meow)
Best of all, the game is free to play, and you only need to spend money if you want to buy gold fish currency (which is frankly given by the cats often enough that this REALLY isn’t necessary unless you really want to)
